The city of New York is always known for its vibrancy in the past and presently. It brings back nostalgic places such as the Three Deuces, which was one of the cougar bars in the 70s. During that era, many remember the construction of the Brooklyn Bridge, the Monk that was seen on 52nd Street and Broadway's bright lights. A residence hall was erected on one of the 12 story building and it was named "Palladium." 1st Avenue Saloon also known as the Good Tavern was another cougar den that became popular during the 70s.When it first opened, it would cater to men who would go there to have an occasional beer, but the owner saw more possibilities with women and so turned it into a cougar bar. Mother's opened its doors in 1968. It was in close proximity to the Carl Sandburg Village apartment complex where a lot of single people lived in their late 30s and late 40s. At the time, it could be found on 57 Hudson Street in Manhattan. While it was open though, it had a lot of cougars on any given night because of its fun atmosphere.
